WHCM is a professional women's networking group with 250 members. I served as President/Chairwoman for 3 years, and am currently Technology Chair. During my 10+ years with the group, I planned and helped staff events, worked with a developer to redesign their website on WordPress, helped rework the charter, and led Steering Committee meetings. It is a wonderful group of supportive women.
I was asked by a former professor to teach a 3-hour class (one night) of Advanced Marketing, part of the Suffolk University MHA Program in Boston. I began doing this in February 2016, and ended in October 2019, when the class was absorbed into a new curriculum structure. Covered were real-world examples from working in the marketing department at Signature Healthcare, allowing students to ask questions and engage in a dialogue.
I coordinated a group of volunteers annually from Signature Healthcare for the United Way Day of Caring. We did everything from painting a community room at a women's shelter to planting flowers at city elementary schools. Additionally, I coordinated the annual United Way fund drive, achieving the Circle of Caring award for the largest campaign increase in our service area in 2019.
I've worked on several mentorship opportunities through Signature Healthcare and my alma mater Suffolk University.
Mentored a college-level public relations intern in the marketing department at Signature Healthcare for a semester.
Coordinated a mentorship program in Signature Healthcare's Emergency Department for 7 high school seniors every fall for 4 years.
Volunteered for three year-long mentorship pairings with MHA students on their education journey.
