Throughout my career, I've been privileged to work on website launches for different audiences and with different budgets. I've collaborated with marcomm departments and across teams to strategize the collection and placement of web and social media content. Working with several vendors, including developers, I managed the entire website redesigns of MGH Institute of Health Professions, Signature Healthcare, and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing from RFP to successful completion. And, I worked with a developer to modernize and redesign the website for a non-profit group I am part of, Women in Healthcare Management.
This project spanned the course of two years, with launch on January 18, 2023. I led or co-led every step of the project - writing the RFP, selecting and interviewing vendors, acting as the main point of contact for our digital agency, collaborating across internal and external marketing teams, gathering data and feedback, writing and organizing the website content, and strategically planning for development work and measurement after launch. We first worked with the digital marketing agency to refresh our brand and conduct focus groups and surveys to establish personas. I co-conducted interviews and back-and-forth input from more than 60 academic leaders, faculty, researchers, students and staff to update content. We reduced the number of pages within the site by over 50% through the removal of duplicative information, and added sections devoted to specific audiences like prospective students, clients (patients) and alumni. Site was developed on Drupal 9, upgraded from Drupal 7. mghihp.edu
The MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school founded in 1977 by Mass General Hospital, and is the only degree-granting affiliate of Mass General Brigham. The school has an enrollment of 1600 students, and includes a $36m funded research enterprise and pro-bono clinical care center where members of the community are provided with the best approaches to wellness, chronic care, and recovery from students across multiple disciplines.
The slideshow demonstrates a few before and after screen shots. We made the site responsive and more user friendly, taking into account google analytics, persona development, and a content gap analysis. With our core strengths and goals in mind, we developed a governance plan for updating content. We met with physician chiefs and managers for content, which I re-worked for clarity. Original site was developed on CentralPoint, a proprietary CMS from Oxcyon. New site is on Kentico. MySignatureCare.org
The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing has a rich legacy dating back to its beginnings in 1897, graduating thousands of nurses. As the only hospital-based nursing school in Massachusetts, it presents a unique learning opportunity for students. In September 2019, the school opened a new, state-of-the-art building on the hospital campus, and we developed a website worthy of that modernization to help with recruitment. I utilized the framework from the Signature Healthcare build, and once launched, trained the administrative staff to update their own sections on the site. This site also uses Kentico. BHSON.org
Signature Healthcare is located in Southeastern MA, and comprised of not-for-profit Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital; Signature Medical Group (SMG), a multi-specialty physician group of more than 150 physicians practicing in 16 ambulatory locations; and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing.
I joined WHCM to network with other women in healthcare, and was asked in 2010 to volunteer as their Technology Chair. In the role, I used WordPress to post testimonials, bios, and upcoming events. In 2016, the website was in need of updating and modernization. With feedback from our Steering Committee, I worked with a freelance developer to redesign the site on WordPress based on our membership growth and retention needs. WHCM.org
Women in Healthcare Management was founded in 1977 by a small group of women healthcare professionals who recognized the importance of networking in advancing their careers. Since those early days, WHCM has grown to over 240 active members, and it remains the major networking organization in the greater Boston area focused on professional women with careers in all sectors of the healthcare industry.
